The me I am
"You are not a bit stuffy,
You are stupid, and mute."
None deem me puffy,
All think I can only flute.
They say, "You are different,
Why?" I am who I am, simply me.
For who I try to be, I revert
To being what I'm, unique, who I'm, me.
An action in frustration;
They share their experience
Speaking to me, a dissatisfaction,
For they think in exclamation points:
"He didn't answer, why?!"
"Maybe he didn't hear me?!"
"Maybe he is not able to infer?!"
"Or he wishes for quiet, to be free?!"
I am sorry if what I am frustrates you,
I am sorry, I can't be sorry for who I am.
And to those fraught with slandering, I cue:
"Hell's too hot for talk that's damned."
