To be a fool in love is a painful delight,
Each day filled with longing, each night a lonely fight,
I give my heart so freely, only to be betrayed,
My love unrequited, my hopes begin to fade.

I wear my heart on my sleeve, vulnerable and exposed,
But you play with my emotions, leaving me feeling closed,
I thought you were my everything, my reason to smile ?
But now I see the truth, it was all just a trial.

I cry myself to sleep, wondering where I went wrong,
Was my love not enough, was it not strong?
But despite the pain, I still hold on to hope,
That one day you'll realize, and together we'll cope.

So here I am, a fool in love, broken and torn,
But I'll keep on loving you, even if I'm worn,
For love is a battlefield, and I'll fight till the end,
Even if it means I'll always be just a friend.
