Have I told you before?
Long before I intend to write
all these feelings out
You ever thought,
'why she wrote that long?'

All poems turn out to be a waste
Afraid of being untranslatable
Then, people would ask,
"What's the point of this?"
or so I thought

I talked about this
many times
people question my work
to me, it's like questioning my worth
'Am I deemed worthy?'
will be the ultimate question
being replayed over my mind
just within the next couple of minutes

When I used to speak to this lovely old friend,
she said, "You see, you're like a marigold.
One time I symbolise you as one,
if only you knew the meaning."
Oh, to be compared with Mary's gold
That's what I love about her,
she's a real one

When I was all lost,
I told her my deep struggles and aspirations
She was there listening
She wouldn't say a word of discouragement
But the way she capably did reaffirming
My broken self
