A little prayer for poets
Diversity
A religion in which I pray
I need guidance
Just like any other
I am in no position
To turn down help
On the edge of a cliff,
I yelp
To not be labelled
Or identified
But striving to be
All-inclusive
And violent
When it comes to words
Totally abusive
And stubborn
Armed with metaphors
And allegories
I pray
The poems
Always have my back
Always ready to attack
The readers' minds
The rhymes come easy
As you can see
We can swim in this sea
Made out of poetry
Anthologies
Way too many to count
We are floating
The lines are heavy
We wouldn't drown
And each stanza
Is another ship we launch
To conquer the land
We must meet
The high demand
Sharpen the tongue
Sharpen the pen
Teach the young
Inflate the lung
Amen
Breathe in
Amen
Breathe out
Amen.
