🍂🍃🍃🍂

There's something so intimate
witnessing the turning of leaves
it's frondescent symphony

like timed harvest of nature's qualms
her skin turning a color
to entice a manner of her voice

whispering in:
the chill of the air
the noon breezes
the night's embrace
the morning's shy quivers

as if to say-
collect all the shapes
and sides of me

sewing imagery in fanciful play
of colorful fabrics
embroidering the quiet
texturing the earth with richness

even if all I'm bequeathed
are interchangeable intervals
of wild chaotic coldness
and scorching unforgivable humidity

a small window of respite
the coveted in between:

when leaves start to dance in hues
and the earthy air greets you
in soft euphonious caresses

I slump in the grassy dirt
taking it all in

for I know
it will be

like a fever dream
once again

so I take a mental photo
—inhaling deep.

as if I was saying
hello and goodbye
in one breath.

Like all fleeting
connections embedded
in my silver veins.
