THE SPACE BETWEEN
In secret, our hearts collided
An affair that blossomed, but with different intentions inside
To him, it was friendship, a bond so true
But to me, it was love, a feeling I couldn't subdue
I yearned for his heart, for him to confess
But he gave me a condition, a wait of a year's distress
He loves me, yet fears to reveal
Afraid to let go, but doesn't want me to heal
He's torn between his heart and his pride
Wanting me close, but unable to step inside
The walls he's built, to shield his soul
Leaving me waiting, with a heart that's lost control
A year of waiting, of patience and pain
For a love that's uncertain, a heart that's in vain
But still I hold on, to the hope in my heart
That someday he'll see, we'll never be apart.
