Deadly Sedatives

Feeling as if you're on a slant?
Bottling up a vicious rant?
A shaft packed with a plant replaces the previous chant.

Once you've started it's almost impossible to quit.
Heading down a path, where you'll wind up unfit.

Heaving away most of the day.
Taking deep breaths, hauling straight to the pit.
Each puff helps keep feelings at bay.
It tastes of death, the new hobby is to spit.

Killing ourselves has become an integral part of society.
Nobody wants to be left out of the Sorority.
Paying for toxic chemicals, at their best.
We even built dedicated smoking spots to rest.

Sticks of death, with no other purpose.
Take a breath, contaminate everything, including the surface.
Sold in stores, as an advertisement of corpses.
Creating lores, to gain money from multiple sources.

Seriously, I ask, what is the purpose?
