Rumpelstiltskin
Spinning straw into gold, I look up at you waiting for your embrace
Receiving it from your eyes, I proceed to spin
But this begins to feel like I am drowning when I cannot even swim.

You told me you would help me,
You told me we would spin together,
You told me we would swim together,
I was not prepared to do it all alone
I’m going to drown in my sleep.

Needles begin to prick my fingertips
The blood gushes and spreads all around the straws, turning my gold red
The bitter sting of your face drenches the air
I grab the spinning wheel and smash it into fragments of your becoming
Dropping to the ground, I pull my legs to my chest as you come down next to me
Just for one last prick.
