The sleeves rolled up with the collar button undone
A brown haired Adonis with a tint of ginger
You seemed happy to see me
Not sure what you saw to make you smile so warmly
I bet you are a charmer among the ladies in your town
But this smile of yours is nothing flirty
It's neither a polite smile nor a condescending one
It's that special smile you reserve for your family

Your eyes twinkled
It held a curiosity, an inquisitive glint
And you didn't bother to hide it when I saw that
You were not embarrassed
But don't know why the tip of your ears reddened
Do you want to know me?

I am a plain Jane .
Yet you moved forward to greet me

When our fingers met
For a moment I thought nervousness was contagious
Seeing the way you became flustered
When I was the one who was actually trembling and blushing
But you were able to move past that indecision

You held my chair for me to sit on

To make me laugh

We talked, not even sparing a single second on the hot meal that now turned cold
When it was time to leave, we both were reluctant
We entwined our fingers
And looked at each other
