Parallel Lines
We're like two parallel lines destined, never to intersect,
Much like the infinite azure sea and sky, never to connect,
Perhaps the reason why I can't help but look at you in awe,
From a distance, I ponder why I can't cross this line that I draw.

We're close yet far apart, like land and sky, boundless and blue,
From afar, I can only wish I were the person beside you,
Wishing I were in the crowd surrounding you,
But my love for you seems forbidden from my view,
Maybe in another life under a different sky, we can meet anew.

For now, I can only admire you from a distance,
Like the star you are, always shining, unlike my existence,
For I am just a falling star, lost its light, we can never be,
Surrounded by others, yet you're the only one I see,
Even in the crowd, you're the sole focus of my eyes, you shine,
However we are nothing but two diverging roads, each with a distinct finish line.

The forbidden line that cannot be crossed,
The growing distance, the space separating us,
There's a gap that cannot be filled and
Side by side, yet so far apart, we stand.

For we are nothing but two parallel lines that cannot intersect,
A diverging road that can never connect,
Like the land and the sky, to meet, we can never expect.

So until the next life, I can only wish and feel defeat,
Howeve in another life, I hope again we meet,
But not as parallel lines or the sea and the sky,
But in the boundless blue sky, like birds, we soar high.

Maybe under another sky, in another life, we start,
We meet like two converging paths, never splitting apart.
But for now, we are just two parallel lines.
I am the sea and you're the sky, never to intertwine.
