Sleep Don't Come Easy
Why try?
To fool myself into believing
dreams will come to me so easily
when I lay down to sleep
you're kidding me
maybe it's me fooling myself
because the closer I get
they further they go away from me
unreal
is what they seem
they don't come easy
it's always a struggle to reach that state
slipping into dreamland when its planned
it comes so easy when I least expect
my eyes shut tight suddenly
if I take a little rest
I'm out for the count
half hour to an hour goes by
what is this kind of world
where dreams never come to life
when I plan to close my eyes
my eyelids open up straight away
up I get
like a puppy dog wanting to play
when everyone wants to sleep
I guess it's another world
when sleep don't come easy
dreams seem so far away
never mind it's nearly daylight
the start of a brand new day...
