fire doesn't burn
We painted smiles on broken faces,
Hiding the pain, concealing the traces,
But beneath the masquerade, a void resides,
A love torn apart, where darkness presides.

We whispered promises in the dead of night,
But our hearts grew weary, losing the fight,
Like wilted flowers, our love slowly fades,
Leaving behind memories, like twisted shades.

We played pretend, ignoring the signs,
But the cracks grew wider, like broken lines,
And now we stand on fragile glass,
Each step a risk, a shattered past.

The echoes of our laughter now ring hollow,
As sorrow engulfs us, drowning in its flow,
The fire that once burned bright has turned to ash,
Leaving us lost, in a world so harsh.

We tried to hold on, but the grip slipped away,
Leaving us stranded, no words left to say,
In this dark, depressing, and sad affair,
Our love, like a ghost, lingers in the air.
