it’s been half a year since i said goodbye to you
mom still talks about you from time to time
life’s gone slow the times gone fast
i might not be sad but will the numbness last
with the christmas season you came to my mind
i’ve never spent one without you by my side
i promised to let you go that day
but i can’t help but circle back to your grave

the ghost of christmas past comes to stand beside me
shows me all the times of you and i and all we used to be
the ghost of christmas present comes to greet me
says to push through and make the most of what i’ve got
the ghost of christmas future takes my hand
promises i’ll get through it cause that’s just who i am

the ghost of christmas haunts me
and he’s whispering your name
the ghost of christmas haunts me
and he’s the why i’m here today
