Remember to forget
Every flower you gave
I had the forethought to save
We thought our love marked us brave
To be queer loudly together and unafraid

Our bouquet now sits wilted
Loves growth now stilted
Alone, I feel so stupid
Thinking it was something I did

I'll find love anew
Someone who won't put me through
Punished me for anything I'd do
I will speak true
The next time I say "I love you"

Flowers will bloom
Hearts singing in tune
Hand in hand each other's boon
Someone to make my groom

I won't rush to trust
I'll do as I must
Temper all carnal lust
I won't let my heart rust or grow callous
I'll dress my wound and drain the pus
In healing I'll be as loving waters, gentel and cool to the touch
