Growing Up or Becoming Numb?
People say "we grew up" when
We don't share things anymore,
When we confide ourselves within a diary or music.
When we start staying at home instead of partying or going out.
When we start to stay silent,
When we avoid fights and try to stay calm.
When we avoid certain activities we used to love.
But according to me,
We didn't grow up—
We just become numb.
The untouched pages of our diaries wait to hear another empty conversation with ourselves.
Conversations feel bothersome.
Silence becomes our new language.
Yes, we are not growing up, but in this numbness, maybe we will get a chance to discover ourselves?
