Dear Grandma
Dear Grandma,
I can never forget your contagious charisma.
My mind is still stained with bittersweet memories of you,
Struck by dementia, so you probably had no clue...

But I'll still write in this withered, old diary,
For these thoughts I cannot bear to bury.
I still remember your porcelain skin glowing every time you spoke about God,
Without you here, this world seems so empty and odd.

Your face once held a beautiful bright smile,
Wrinkles that stacked wisdom and hidden mysteries in piles.
Children chasing each other in a small blue house,
Trying to hide their mischief by tiptoeing like a shy mouse.

Basking in the aroma of your home cooked delicacies,
And listening to your endless lullabies and stories.
Taking us on adventures around the lake nearby,
Oh, how those days went by...for I start to cry.

Wide grins and happiness filled those faces,
But now tears fill our empty flower vases.
The thought of you never coming back is scary,
But I'll keep our precious moments safe, etched into memory.

For now, I will have to say my final goodbye,
As I watch your soul fly high in the radiant sky.

Sincerely, your loving granddaughter...
