Our Garden of Roses
Just close your eyes; a sweet ravine awaits us both.
Now, no one knows how to cry.
A kiss, planted by the angels, now calms your troubled mind.
Amongst the roses, there's no sun.
A cold war nears; the fire collapsed my precious souvenirs.
The ghost I once ignored eloped with my dreams.
The lullaby of you follows behind me, calmly.
my lifeless soul bath's in a presence that is no more.

I remember the tears falling from your pensive eyes,
As mockingbirds danced with drenched wings. life whispers "I don't want to die".
Tell me you love me, even if it's a lie; we all deserve a somber sleep.
Loneliness leaves footsteps in the winter, letting me know you were here.

In the distance, I thought I saw you, but I was embraced by the wind.
Emotions rage on, stealing the once bright roses that lit your way home.
On a sunny morning, the sun lowered its gaze, guiding you away.
Funnily enough, mind-numbing happy dreams flourish on.

Now that the music's gone, how do I hold on to this love of mine? In the morning's light, if I open my eyes, will I find what was long lost with time? In a meadow of roses, will we reunite? If I continue my journey amongst the ocean, you'll be there right, standing, your smile floating. Your comforting presence will soon guide me home to rest in our garden of Roses.
