plagued child
lost from the brinks,
from the moment of it's being.
a discarded gift that shrinks,
leaving no point for a grip

pushed away to it's instincts,
for a chance to survive by trick.
a way of life that hardly pricks,
nor provides it with a pick

held down to the bricks,
to be restricted for a frisk.
but a pain of cups he drinks,
with the taste of violence to lick.

locked down like a freak,
to be left unloose even in a blink.
like a running man, must think,
how to avert the hurdles or sink.

through thick and thin he's quick,
paving a balance, he's greatest kick.
a choice to lessen the risk,
and lay down in silence at times nick.
