I'm grateful for the countless hours we've spent together,
For they've given me the chance to feel your heartbeat, in joy and in sorrow.
Everywhere I look, I see your face,
Your favorite songs still echo in my mind.
Though your shadow is no longer visible, you linger in my memory,
You are the reason my heart now lies in pieces.
If only I had known your departure was so near,
I would have made you laugh and smile even more.
A simple 'thank you' falls short for the love you've shown me,
I will never, ever forget you.
