untitled 2
I lay the body down,
under a blanket of wet leaves
so the worms and and maggots
may carry her onward.

Soon the river will flood
and wash her downstream.
She will meander, and float,
and swell, and burst, and putresce.

Eventually she will wash ashore,
and the little girl that finds her
will not worry.
Because she'll know it was necessary.
