The Uninvited Guest
The guest arrived uninvited, with a suitcase full of borrowed time, still he found a place to rest his head and stay the while
He grasped the moment that unfurled in front of him, a fragile thread already torn, to get a hold in this whirlwind world that swept him up in its spin
The dawn was brief and flickering but with all his might he clung to it in desperation, his hourglass turned upside down, the sands running low
He had his face upturned towards the sun as if he wanted to drink every warm and radiant beam
'Cling to what's left undone', he told himself,
'All that's left unsaid will be silenced by the hum of the universe;
seize the hour, this fleeting last breath, and fill it with your indelible print.'
The horizon stretches in front of him, a promise of infinity, yet it's out of reach
