Living my best life
Living my best life

I remember one of my girlfriends said to me,
"Girl, you're living your best life,"
I laughed and thought. Yes, I am!

We were talking about that while she was at my house and doing the last video shoot for the documentary that I was blessed to be part of, #Thisisseries
We spoke of how I am living life large, living my best life, and how it was so amazing to her.

I told her it was because of where I came from. The place of hurt, the place of brokenness that made me so grateful and want to enjoy every second of this life I am living now.

Some people wallow in their past. It keeps them stuck. It holds a cloud over every other part of their lives. That is because they choose to do that. I chose to learn from my past and be grateful I am no longer there. I chose to be present in each and every moment. It doesn't matter if I leave the dishes in the sink and the list of things to do in order to participate in real life, my life.

I truly am grateful for my past because without it, I wouldn't fully appreciate my life now. I wouldn't know what it takes to struggle, and I wouldn't know what real blessings look like.

I am fully engaged in my life now. I don't know how much time I have here, but whatever time it is, I am going to enjoy every second of it. I am constantly stepping out of my box, pushing myself beyond my limits, trying new things, meeting new people, and opening my mind up to explore.

I am willing to try pole dancing classes, Bachata and salsa dancing, or aerial yoga. Hell, I went rock climbing on a date even though I am afraid of heights. I will drop everything for a friend from out of town or someone who wants to do something with me or for my girls because these are the moments, the memories that will last forever. This is what life is about.

It's not about a 9-5, with a list of things as long as your arm to do. It's definitely not about stressing over everything every single day. No, it's about living your life to the fullest!

When you die, will you say
“I wish I did more things on my list” or will you say “I wish I spent more time doing the things I loved with the people I loved”
No one regrets that they didn't work more, but everyone regrets that they didn't spend more time living the life they had.

So today my friends remember, the dishes and lists will be there when I am dead and when you're dead but life won't, so I am committed to living my best life now and you should too.
