Incredulous (Part-1)
It was about six years ago. I had just stepped into teenage when my dad bought a two-storeyed white house. It has a small balcony. From outside, the house looked totally deserted as it had not touched by anyone for many years. Although our neighbours had complained that our house was haunted but since we thought it was perfect as we didn't believe in the existence of ghosts. Hence we purchased it.

One day, I was alone in my new home as my parents went to join the marriage ceremony of my maternal cousin. They didn't accompanied me with them as it was a rainy day. They thought that I would get a cough and cold if I went outside in such a bad weather. Moreover my dad told me to stay at home and study because my final exams were knocking at the door.

That night, I was burning the midnight oil to finish my huge syllabus. Suddenly the lights went off and it became complete blackout. The wind started howling through the naked trees. The branches were snapping and dry leaves were crunching. Again outside started with raining cats and dogs, thunderstorms, lighting in the night. The windows were banging and shutting off by the howling wind. I felt somewhat scared. Therefore, I went to bed.

Not a single moment had passed, I had closed my eyes than I heard the howling of some street dogs. I opened my eyes and stared at the window screen. I thought somebody was noticing me. So, I pull up the curtains. But nothing had been seen except the flashing of the lights.

Then I close my eyes and tried to sleep. But I can't sleep. Every minute I was tossing and turning on the bed. Again my eyes opened and I looked at the window and my mind started conjuring up all sorts of shapes in the darkness.

As I was standing by the bed and there was lightning struck outside. I heard something crawling under my bed. I had nothing to lit up. So I took my cell phone and put on its torch light. But my phone had less charge. It will be power off at any time. So, I was ransacking for a torch. Opening the drawer of my study table, I found an old torch. I switched it on and it was giving a low and dim light. In that light, one couldn't see anything better in that dark, I was getting more senses to my visualisations. Then I looked under the bed and there was nothing. Thus I thought it may be small creatures like mice or cockroaches. Then I went to bed with that torch.

Only a moment had gone farther to be said, I heard sounds on stairs. It may be somebody's footsteps. It was like that someone was coming upstairs. I closed my eyes and tried to remember God. Then I heard that somebody was calling me by my name. I wrapped the blankets tighter around me and let out a sick whimper. My chest became tight, my stomach rotten. My heart beats became more fast as my mind thought who was calling my name. I would not look. No matter how close those shuffling footsteps came, I would not look. I would not! I would not! Then I heard my door creaked open.
