Why pineapple has many eyes ? There was a story of a couple who had an only daughter named Pena. The couple love their daughter so much . Pena was like a princess at home. They were not rich but the couple tried to give everything for Pena. The girl grew up like a spoiled brat.
One day, Pena was asked by her mother to look for something but she replied, "where is it mother ? I did not see it." Her mother went to get the thing she asked.
The next day, Pena's mother asked her again to get something. But then she replied, " where is it mother, I did not see it?" Her mother was very disappointed of her daughter. She went and get the thing she asked.
Everytime Pena's mother ask her to get or look for something, she always say, she did not see it because she was lazy enough to look for it.
Until one night, the mother told her daughter to get something again, but Pena answered the same thing. So, her mother was very furious and cursed her telling, " I wish you could have many eyes so that you can easily find the thing everytime I ask you."
The couple woke up early in the morning. Pena's mother was about to wake her up but her mother did not find her in bed. They looked around and even asked the neighbors if they saw their daughter Pena but they failed, no one saw her.
As they kept on looking for Pena, the mother saw a strange plant that seemed had a crown. Many days had passed by, Pena did not appear anymore.
The couple concluded that the strange plant that has many eyes was their daughter Pena. Later on, the people called it, Peña. That's the fruit called pineapple.
