I Met A Stranger. Part Twelve.
I stared at the sparks on Gable's fingers and back at the empty space.

"You'll be seeing him again", he stated and walked in long strides. "pay him no heed"

I looked at his retreating back and noticed his silver hair grace his broad shoulders effortlessly. He suddenly stopped walking and turned to notice i hadn't moved an inch. He appeared right in front of me.

"I'll advise you to keep up", he stated again.

I stared at him. He didn't seem to understand what I was looking at."i can only use the gate for you when the keepers are at leisure"

"You've shrunk",i walked up to him. He was now some inches over seven.

"Your neck seemed to hurt",he didn't look amused. "it's the least i could do"

He snapped his fingers again. This time golden dusts rose from the ground and surrounded us. We were suddenly enclosed in a room. He knocked on the wall, and it opened like doors on every side.

We were in a forest.

"Pay attention", he stood behind me and pointed at the silver tree in front of us. The tree stretched and turned and grew bigger until it was the size of a building. Then it started to shed its leaves. Its falling leaves gave the cascading effects of a waterfall.

"That gate can take you home", he stated, standing behind me."but it won't let you through yet"

I turned to look at him.

"That is a silver gate", he looked behind me. I stared at his eyes, they changed colors every second."it cannot recognise you yet."

The forest started to shift and take the form of a room and enclosed us. I looked at him. His eyes were back to the strange grey again.

"We've met before", i thought out loud. I could feel his gaze on me in the dark room. He hadn't knocked on the wall. He was waiting for me to finish.

When I saw his eyes change color in front of the tree, i remembered something.

"In the hotel", I had seen him in the back garden of the Mr Weather's hotel. I was on the balcony of the first floor. It was for a brief moment, but our eyes met. I would never forget such a strange pair of eyes."you were in disguise"

"It was nine years ago",i continued."i never saw you again"

I heard a knock on the wall.

We were back in the same room again, in Nara and August's house.

He scanned the living room of their house and took a seat on the couch and let out a sigh.

He seemed to sigh a lot.

Was he tired? I sat some distance away from him and waited for him to say something. Maybe he didn't remember. It wasn't a significant meeting after all.

"You were looking for me", he turned his head to look at me. He must be talking about the meteor night.

I looked away. My face suddenly burned. He didn't need to say it out like that. It was true I had searched for him that day and the days after. I had even asked Mr Weather but he didn't seem to understand what I was talking about.

I heard him chortle."curious little one"

He knew.

He knew he was the reason I went to Willows every year.
