The Lost Souls Return -11
Noah's POV (Point of view)

The repetitive noises of the machines around me , counting every second of a person's life , how trivial a single human life can be yet it is so powerful. For what reason? all this medical science is to preserve the soul in the body as long as possible, before death blows it's final trumpet.

I stand looking at Serene's quiet body , in a hope to see her open her eyes and smile at me. A nurse reported that she saw movement of her fingers and palm and that single thing gave me hope. Hope. A dangerous yet beautiful feeling .

"Serene, please wake up. You can do this. You are a warrior". her mother whispers in her ear, sobbing for her daughter.
Her mother visits her everyday, brings her favourite dishes, sits besides her for hours and leaves, distributing those dishes among the hospital staff. This is her routine.

"Dr. Noah , you can't just waste your time sitting next to a single patient." my nurse reminds me.
As I get up to move outside, my eye catches a movement.

Serene moved her leg.

Rushing towards her,I immediately check her pulse, increase the doses of medicines given to her intravenously and put a stethoscope on her heart.

"Pulse and heartrate is normal. Patient has shown movement. Please continue the same medications" I tell my nurse to which she nods.

I return home early, sitting on the couch , watching a Lion eat a deer. I wonder how nature works, the weak has to perish .

My cellphone's ring interrupts my thoughts.
"Dr. Noah please come to the hospital. It's an emergency " a chaos is heard in the background.
"Who's the patient?" I ask casually brooming a speck of dust on my pants.

"It's Ms. Serene"

Hearing that name increases my heartbeat to an abnormal level. I rush to the hospital not wasting a single minute.
