Have begun to make more sense

Over strongholds of relentless evil
Against our blood as God's property

Battle of wits and sarcasm sound appealing
It's a tiebreaker, no means for fighting

Suck at plainly expressing emotions
Acting nonchalant yet catching feelings
Ticking most of boxes in terms
of preferences
The understanding between shared afflictions
A perfect gain of empathy and intimacy
Escaping from bondage
Breaking barriers yet bonds between the two
Are tied, harder to release
Essentially sparing lives, yet
Only themselves get failed to spare
The easily-driven attractions from existing
Mutual interest has sprung up
From being friends to lovers
