Part 2–Whispers of Time–Chapter 6-Fun

The glass, the surface of her fragile body, cracked, and a spinder spread his web, not missing a corner. The cracks started more prominently from the left wrist. It notices a watch, with ths second and minute hands were close to each other. In this way the tingles appeared and increased the pain.
Her breathing was shallow, she forced herself not to fall, to keep her eyes open, conscious. The pain was too oppressive, like a funeral march. Something died inside, a sweet feeling immediate was bitter like a medicine, but poisonous. Maybe if she saw them again, to gather her memories to build a face. Instead, all she managed was a floating head, with two huge black holes for his eyes, covered entirely by a reddish head of hair. The specter's thin mouth had moved and wanted to give her a mumbled message, unable to decipher it. Tears, salt water, mixed with despair have awakened an equally mysterious amalgam. She had in herself a guilt for what she had done neither alive nor dead. She wanted to stop, to trigger the forbidden button and the bad dream to shatter.

A whisper, almost unreal, woke her up from the numbness of sleep she wouldn't part with. Being used with interruptions caused by the owls coming in and out of the skylight, she turns to the other side. "Night owl" was not her style at all. The fluffy blankets are pulled from her, giving her the impression that she is not still out of the nightmare, and jumps into the jus in fear. Someone wanted to go on a trip in the open air. Mey didn't run, she preferred beauty sleep. She looked through the darkness with the certainty that there isn't a head gravitating there. The contour of Caro's face reassured her a little and she hugged her to be sure.

–Nightmare? Caro whispers worriedly as for a younger sister.

Their ages weren't clear to them until they rummaged through the documents in the archive. Big surprise to find out their ages and the names of who threw them to live in this "Paradise"

Sleepy she nodded, wanting to have a paradise of her own. Dreams would have been a gate to that if they weren't replaced. She hears a rustle of a bag and her senses are triggered, feeling calm even though she had eaten something before going to sleep. The bag was full of large, white marshmallows whose taste was a mystery. To enjoy their midnight snack they went outside. Her breathing was still lazy, although the coolness in the air felt wonderful and told you to sleep in the grass. She craved for a peaceful nap, where the universe was black, free of terrible nightmares.

The dark was less scary, and with friends by her side it became great fun and an opportunity to make a mess. She walked here and there, among the trees around the lake, following thin and somewhat thicker branches. She smiled seeing a piece of plastic. The object was a broken lighter that still had liquid in it. She opened the metal part with her fingers and gently scrapes the plastic with it, then struggles to light the lighter in his mechanism. A spark jumps on the plastic and the fire is ready. The smoke was rising towards the star, which will forever be hidden from the eyes of the curious. They sat around the fire on the dry autumn grass. The leaves were falling from the crowns of the golden oaks. Their bodies flinched and they laughed at each other, choking on the soft, sticky marshmallows.

They realized they were getting a little taste of freedom, breaking the rules of the orphanage and dreaming they weren't there anymore. Every day they were visited by a lot of people and left without adopting anyone. The procedure was to go through them, study them, after exchanging a few words with the director. He sits in his huge chair and says the name of the lucky one, if there happened to be one. The easy option was to wait for the age of majority rather than hope for an adoption. Caroline was called out, and that meant more than anything. Her joy and anxiety dissolved when the director didn't allow the new family to adopt her. The problem was money. The director had claims and expectations that his pocket would be filled as you would say hocus pocus! Nothing could convince him, and the girl lost her chance and screamed to herself for the whole Universe to hear. It hadn't been long since the incident and the first time it came out, her mind was simmering, and when the lid lifted, she will explode.
She put out the fire and covered it with earth, so it wouldn't revive again, although it had no way, but it was a precaution. At least their place will be intact, untouched by the flames of a fire. On an impulse she ran through the dark. Inside, her the rage was fueled and she longed for complete freedom.
The two, dumbfounded and sure that their friend was about to commit another "murder", followed her and found her in the back yard. Caroline, on the verge to explode, was looking with interest for an object through some boxes in the old warehouse. She is caught from behind by Ethan and Mey, rolling on the ground laughing at her reaction. A light whose origin was clear blinded them. Were ten carrtakers, eleven with Scissors in front of them and wanted to catch them like mice. They will suffer a lot and they will never learn their lesson, freedom is still theirs, nothing else matters.
Scissors flashed and thundered, rousing the dumbfounded orphanage from the windows, thinking they were witnessing the beheading, hanging, crucifixion of saints. The caretakers dragged them to the pit. Around it were around 4 dogs tied with a strong chain and always checked. The "legends" mentioned an orphan run away by one. When the animal lurched back, it was holding a child's finger in its mouth. That episode ending with the killing of the dog.

The pit was dug deep, about 20 feet, so a ladder seemed useful to climb up. After a day or two, at sunrise, if you were lucky enough to live, "FireMouth", the chef, would show up to take you out. He is responsible for feeding these "wild" animals, much more terrible than orphans.

Mey wondered if it was time to use her talents as an orphan or endure the humiliation. She rolled her eyes around, noticing Caroline's disappearance. She was sure she was with her and that she wasn't hallucinating. Ethan pointed at the roof. The girl was monkeying around on her mane. Beside her lay a beautiful canister with a box of matches. The crowd moved their attention to that point, they heard her scream at the top of her lungs that she's going to burn down the orphanage. Whoever she's going to give up, if her friends are setting free. All said and done, the two are freed, and Caroline gives up on starting another fire and came down thw earth. The move meant the offense was headed for capital punishment. She should never believe them, especially those who must have signed a pact with the Devil.
