Unexpected part 2
Part 2.

"You awake then," Nick said as he walked into the living room the next morning,
"I am so sorry I fell asleep, you all should have woke me up and thrown me out."
"Since when have we ever done that"
"Good point, you look nice where are you off to?" She asked him
"Dean's invited me to a barbeque at yours"
"Didn't even invite me" she laughed,
"That's probably cos you live there"
"Probably" she agreed
"Can give you a lift there if you want"
"When are you leaving?" She asked sitting herself up while he put the music channel on, "Oh my gosh this is a tune" she stated. Singing along with the tune getting up and dancing in front of him, he smiled at her, admiring her more than he meant to, this was slowly becoming a habit. He couldn't be into his friend's sister, especially when they had all grown up with each other, 'I have to get over this quick time' he thought to himself. But still unable to take his eyes away from her.
"Probably be in an hour or two" he answered her question. She nodded still singing along with the song Lara walked in instantly joining her friend dancing and singing, the sun was shining brightly into the living room, giving them all the feel-good feeling

The party was booming there were people everywhere,
"Well, when he throws a party, he really throws a party" she stated to both Nick and Lara
"He sure does, is their gonna be any food left" Nick asked raising an eye brow as he was starving, his stomach felt as though it was eating itself.
"I'm sure he brought more than he needed" she said. "He usually does and right now my guess is that he will be right beside the barbeque." He added.

They found Dean by the Barbeque,
"You all made it, where's Tyler?" He asked pleased to see them.
"He was meeting up with Joseph" Lara stated, looking at Jess sheepishly.
"Thought Joseph would've been with you" Dean replied looking at his sister
"We're not joined at the hip" she reminded him not ready to tell him that they were no longer together. He would have been pleased though he had never really liked him. She just wasn't ready for the big announcement that her relationship hadn't worked out.
"So..what's the barbecue for?" Nick asked, trying to change the subject for Jess. She looked at him mouthing thank you, he nodded slightly at her.
"It's a warm day for one" Dean stated.
"Fair enough" Nick replied. Still feeling hungry, he grabbed a beer and then grabbed a burger that Dean was holding "cheers mate" he said playfully making them laugh.

The party was in full swing, a lot of people were drunk now, Jessica was one of them, as was Nick, they had pretty much been drinking together, along side talking to others.
"Don't look like Joseph is gonna show" Lara pointed out as she rejoined them.
"I didn't believe he would" Jessica stated, she knew him well enough to know he would stay low for a couple of days, until he believe it had blown over then reappear as if nothing had ever happened.
"Are you planning on staying with him?" Nick asked curiously, shook her head as the image of his lips on someone else's reappeared in her mind.
"Good...cos you deserve better than that" Lara said flatly, she had never been that keen on him, she just put up with him because of Jess and Tyler.

Jessica had taken to the dance floor, which Brody had pulled her onto. She didn't mind dancing with him, he had usually been her dancing partner, he like Nick was one of Dean's good friends and was fun to be around. Unlike his brother Shaun who was well known as the towns womanizer, whom was the same age as her, only she had never been attracted to him.
Nick soon joined them on the dance floor, the three of them dancing around laughing at one another, a slow song soon started playing, Nick took her hand and pul led her close to him for a slow dance. Brody pulled Lara on to the dance floor doing the same to her.
"Didn't think you liked to dance" Jess said
"Occasionally I do" he answered. They moved in time to the music, it felt to Jess as though they were the only two on the dance floor as they danced, both smiling happily. Her eyes met his steel grey eyes, she had never seen such mesmerizing eyes before, gazing into them she felt like he had fallen into his hidden pain, his happiness and his love for life. She looked away shaking her head a little. She remembered the time she had crushed on him when she was coming into her teens how her friend Silver had teased her about it, neither one of them informing Lara, knowing she would have been furious by this. Jessica none the less had, had those feelings there, whether he had wanted them there or not. For the first time since then she noticed how much more attractive he had become, how age was defining his good looks, why hadn't she noticed until now, she found herself wondering.

"Thank you for the dance" she said as the song ended he nodded before saying,
"Likewise" they looked at each other a moment longer than either of them should have, but both unable to look away,
"Nick I need your help" Dean interrupted pulling his friend from the dance floor. Jess' stood there for a moment before regaining her senses of where she was, Brody was looking at her concerned for a moment, before he walked over to her
"Are you alright?" He asked, the concern heavy in his voice.
"Um...Yeah, I'm ok thank you" she answered
"Nick didn't upset you did he?" He asked, she shook her head in response.
"No, no not at all."
