Part 3–Whispers of Time–Chapter 3–Steps

It's the last quiet night before the storm comes. I don't know if I'll be back in this time. Jasmine told me the clock will break soon, that's part of the curse. The curse was to be haunted by her and then lose myself in time. I don't want to leave this world, but I can't resist. Here my decisions don't matter anymore, so I can't choose. I have a feeling that I won't be aware of what I'm experiencing in this present. The thought doesn't give me chills, more my heart breaks. I'll never be able to see him again.. I'm so sorry. I'll hope to meet him again sometime."
The lines written on the last pages were enough for him to realize that he had already met him. She remembered that night. The rain had accompanied the alert, hurried steps, carrying with them an eternal hope. They were guided by feelings. He stopped in the middle of the street, unconscious. In his arms she had heard his sweet, dreamy words for the last time. So quickly they had turned into nightmares and the clock had shattered. She understood that the picture she received was true, being a thing preserved in his memory. He would like to tell her that they met again, just as he had whispered to her then:
"We will meet again someday, and we will be strangers to each other until we remember..."
And indeed they were strangers to heaven and earth, although he told her that she had died, but look she was here all this time. Tears caressed her face buried in the blanket, starting a storm in itself, lost forever. Shr sighed, she had calmed down, though it was hard for him to believe or look at the past years. There were moments and moments that disturbed her, drowned her in sadness and joy. Her mission was to preserve them, if that remained to be accomplished. Meanwhile, she pretended to sleep, avoided sharing her pain, her tears. The car's engine ended up screeching in front of a house with a green lawn surrounded by a hedge. Around, not a human scream, the curtains covered the windows, the door closed.

–Should we come another day?

–No, not at all! I didn't come all the way here for nothing!

–Would the address be wrong? Do you think she pulled our strings?

‐For what? Stop panicking. In the end, the owl will come out into the light.

–She was jealous of me and now she's taking revenge.

–Mey, be patient, okay? Caroline..

He started to say, but the girl cut him off.

–Does not say anything. Caroline wouldn't change, you know what she's capable of.

–You are wrong, stop blaming others for your fears!

Her fear is to never find him, to lose him, to be alone. She remarked that Tim was right. What was the point of being here, waiting by the hand in fear. She had to pull herself together, move forward as she told herself in the past. Why would she hold a gun to her temple when she could choose something else?! Why would they run away instead of fighting for what's most important? There is no such thing.
