So many things we can learn from promises!
Genesis 9:12-13-17 CEV
The rainbow that I have put in the sky will be my sign to you and to every living creature on earth. It will remind you that I will keep this promise forever. When I send clouds over the earth, and a rainbow appears in the sky, I will remember my promise to you and to all other living creatures. Never again will I let floodwaters destroy all life. When I see the rainbow in the sky, I will always remember the promise that I have made to every living creature. The rainbow will be the sign of that solemn promise.

how many times has someone made a promise and not kept their word?
how many times have we done the same thing due to unforeseen circumstance or life just got in the away?

thankfully God keeps his promises.
so many promises within the scriptures.
I remember when I was a kid my brothers and Aunt would make me a promise It got to the point that I would just say I'm not going to hold my breath.
we negotiate life each and every day through our walk in reality. however, we're not even conscious to the promises that we make to ourselves much less anyone else because a lot of times due to technological advancement and instant gratification.

It's human to error. we're not perfect. I'm definitely not going to try to be perfect. So we have to have a little bit of understanding, compassion towards one another, and try not to make promises that we can't keep to ourselves or to other people, especially within relationships.

The pain of letdown wouldn't be so bad if we didn't get our hopes up so much nor see everything as set in stone because we don't know what might happen nor the inner workings of a person's heart or mind.

with that being said, we have to also learn to hold out forgiveness for one another. so many people are holding grudges nowadays. It's not good for our mental health , health nor will being.

we also have to be cautious and remember those that rarely keep their promises and if it's ourselves not doing so. we definitely need to work on that.
perspective it's always important.

Compassion, Understanding, Remembering, Forgiveness and last but not least Gratitude for those that make our lives a brighter place without them, our lives would be very bleak and very sad. I'm definitely grateful towards God, the universe , for the people within my life, especially my Mother, my family, My girlfriend and the other relationships that I have in my life, especially those that make me smile.

I need to add myself to that list of people that I hold out gratitude for.
