May the Spirit Sing

On the edge of sadness
The side effect of life
Knowing more than I should
About wasting time

I found myself
Longing
For a different song
Then a song began
Playing on and on

May the sunshine rise
Bright as it can be
May the Spirit sing
Strong inside of me

It's a new day's dawn
It's an endless time
May the Spirit smile
With eternal life

I was somewhat frightened
By the sudden sound

I think the sky had angels
But there was no one around

Then I saw it truly
Angels filled the sky

I felt love inside me
But I did not know why

May the sunshine rise
Bright as it can be
May the Spirit sing
Strong inside of me

It's a new day's dawn
It's an endless sky
May the Sprit smile
With eternal life

Think me foolish
It's ok if you do
I'd rather be a fool
If it means being made new

I didn't know how dark my heart was
Until the light came in
Life had been a battle
That I couldn't win.

May the sunshine rise
Bright as it can be
May the Spirit sing
Strong inside of me

It's a new day's dawn
It's an endless time
May the Spirit smile
