And so you left,
Without looking much behind
No trace you left,
And "just forget me okay"
Was all you said,
As if I could just push a button
Forget all the butterflies and the cotton
Slip like water from the grip of memories,
Turn off my emotions on demand
And continue life,
Though it had reached an end
But the reality is that,
On some nights
I'll miss you more than others,
And on those,
I'll shout your name to the heavens,
Memories will slip from my grip like water,
And I'll let them flow,
Cause your place in my life now is hollow
And so all my heart will do is follow,
Until no trace of your presence lingers
Having slipped like water from my fingers.
