A Timeless Dialogue: Galileo and Cleopatra
#CrossEra
Cleopatra:
From Nile's golden shores, I rise,
Queen of the sands, where the sphinx lies.
Tell me, stranger, who are you,
With curious eyes and garments so new?
Galileo:
I am Galileo, from lands far away,
Where the stars guide the night and lead the day.
I’ve gazed through glass and touched the sky,
Seeking truths where shadows lie.
Cleopatra:
Ah, you chase the heavens, I see,
As I once chased an empire by the sea.
Tell me, what secrets have you found,
In that vast, celestial playground?
Galileo:
I’ve seen moons dance around a distant world,
And watched as the Earth, in silence, twirled.
The sun, a fiery monarch above,
Holds all planets with its invisible glove.
Cleopatra:
Such wonders you’ve found in the skies,
Yet power, too, can blind our eyes.
I ruled with cunning, wit, and grace,
But found in love, both power and disgrace.
Galileo:
Yes, knowledge too has a heavy cost,
For I spoke truths and my freedom was lost.
Yet in the darkest night, I find,
A universe that’s vast and kind.
Cleopatra:
Perhaps we share a common thread,
Of battles fought inside our head.
For I too sought what lay beyond,
Not in the stars, but in the bonds
Of hearts, of empires, of fleeting time—
A quest, like yours, both bold and blind.
Galileo:
So we, though distant, share this fate:
To seek, to question, and contemplate.
Your empire, lost in sands of time,
My stars, forever held in rhyme.
Cleopatra:
Indeed, the past and future meet,
In this dance of time, so bittersweet.
Let us then cherish what we’ve known—
In history’s echo, we are not alone.
