She was a mystery
only she knew her history
She glowed with a golden light
as she opened her wings to take flight
I watched her fly with awe-filled eyes
Wondering if someday
like her - i will rise
For i too had battled and survived
and i will continue to
fight and to thrive....
She left one day and no one knew where
but i still felt her presence
in the air,
And then one day i too rose from the ground,
for i was no longer lost-
