Be Calm
136:0.1
JESUS began his public work at the height of the popular interest in John’s preaching and at a time when the Jewish people of Palestine were eagerly looking for the appearance of the Messiah. There was a great contrast between John and Jesus. John was an eager and earnest worker, but Jesus was a calm and happy laborer; only a few times in his entire life was he ever in a hurry. Jesus was a comforting consolation to the world and somewhat of an example; John was hardly a comfort or an example. He preached the kingdom of heaven but hardly entered into the happiness thereof. Though Jesus spoke of John as the greatest of the prophets of the old order, he also said that the least of those who saw the great light of the new way and entered thereby into the kingdom of heaven was indeed greater than John.

Be Calm
Early starts before the sun.
Lots to do before day’s done.
Predawn hours are dark and dank
Drizzle speaks it’s rainy rant.

Wet today, at least at start.
Gray skies can’t be seen when dark.
But still, the drizzle drops do drip.
They make it wet for all our trips.

So be prepared for all this rain.
The slower traffic is a pain.
I guess we need to all slow down
And look to see what’s all around

Find a method, so you help.
The things you do should be heartfelt.
Be a positive force that’s kind.
Be a growing branch upon God‘s vine.

This world does need us to be calm.
There’re many things that could go wrong.
Stable minds with level heads
I pray that peace is where we’re led.

Sometimes there’s pain as things do grow.
Called growing pains within times flow.
Hiccups in the course of progress.
Within you, God is how you’re blessed.

Thank You, Father, I pray for peace.
We need to cure our war disease.
This world could truly, truly, be
A blessed sphere with destiny.
