I struggle with finding my footing.
Over a decade spent locked away
Taught me some valuable lessons
I learned to see others perspectives
While not trading my own views away
I'm not saying they didn't change
I'm not saying I'm always right
At 50 looking at things long range
Leaves less room for maybe or might
I get overwhelmed by intrusions
Even when I know others are right
I'm under no naive allusions
Sometimes Im not really to bright
Humble with a head hard as rock
I must be some kind of sight
Shy to the point of exclusion
Seeing bars behind every light.
Honesty and trust isn't negotiable
I don't want to be that kind of man...
