I don’t race
I don’t haste
I’m a turtle
Happy at my pace.
I’ve seen creatures
I’ve seen companions
Perishing in the prime of their lives.
I gray in the merry hundredth.
I find solace in petty, simple
moments of life.
I crave neither obsessively,
never destructively.
I’m a turtle,
The gray-old hermit
Of the Ocean.
Happy in my solitude
Winner in my own image.
