“Forgive”

What does it mean for someone to forgive?
You let go of the past so you can start to live
I thought well, some people don’t deserve it
For the mean and unacceptable things they did
But if you truly want to move on
You have to learn to forgive
Believe me, it’s easier said than done
It takes patience and time
But they say once you do that
Living and happiness is what you will find
Everything done to me in the past
I’ve held on to for so many years
I can’t even begin to tell you the heartache I’ve had
Among crying all the tears
I’m tired of being mad at the world
I’m tired of the animosity
I’m tired of always being so defensive
With so much intense ferocity
If you pick yourself up, dust off, and redirect
You will soon see a change
But if you don’t you will find that
Things will probably remain the same
It doesn’t change what’s happened
But you can move on and let go
Give yourself what you deserve
So you can have a better tomorrow
