Knot
In the mirror, I gaze at me,
Yet it's your reflection that I see.
We share the air, the food we eat,
Similar paths, in step and beat.

I shut my eyes, there you remain,
Open them wide, you're there again.
I grapple with a loathing strain,
Resemblance mocks, it's hard to forge.

The world chants on, carbon copy they proclaim,
But sometimes, gratitude feels like a game.
Your judgments sting, they cut so deep,
How I move, how I speak, they seep.

I battle self-hate, an endless bout,
Yet my love for you, it won't run out.
Hoping for a shift, a change of view,
That someday, love will bloom anew.

Okay I felt like I should clarify it, guys this isn't a poem for a partner but more of a family thing so please read it that way.
