The next morning Lia and Noah arrived at her partner company for the meeting. The partners greeted her warmly as she took a seat next to Noah. She watched quietly as he fields questions from the partners.

Lia: I hope I'm not being awkward by staring, but I just can't help it. He's incredible to watch!

After the meeting ended, the president of the partner company came over to congratulate Noah.

President: You young man, are very promising! You reminded me so much of your father and the way he just commanded attention in a meeting!

Noah: Thank You sir. That's quite a compliment!

The president then turned to Lia and shakes her hand.

President: And such a beautiful little secretary by your side. You certainly look the part, sweetheart!

Lia: I look the part? What a jerk! As if I don't work my butt off for this company!

Noah: Mr. Bannon, Lia is actually a wonderful assistant. However, it has nothing to do with her appearance! She's smart, hard- working and efficient. And I'll thank you for showing her a bit more respect!

Mr. Bannon: Oh I'm very sorry, Lia. I meant no disrespect!

Lia: I understand you didn't mean anything nagative by it!

Mr. Bannon: Not at all. It was cross of me and I'm ashamed I even mentioned your appearance!

Lia: I don't want this to put a damper on our partnership. I need to just let it go!

Lia: Honestly Mr. Bannon. It's fine!

Noah: Lia, if you're ready, I believe the car is waiting for us downstairs!

Lia: Yes, Mr. Kason, it was nice to meet you, Mr. Bannon!

Mr. Bannon: You as well, Ms. Lia. Good afternoon, Mr. Kason!

Noah: Mr. Bannon!

Lia: Geez, Noah is taking this even worse than I am!

She followed Noah out of the door to the car. Once in the car, Noah directed the driver to the shopping district downtown.

Noah: I hope you don't mind. My mother wanted me to pick up a few things for her while we were here!

Lia: Ofcourse not. I actually wouldn't mind doing a little shopping myself!

She falls silent as the driver pulled the car away from the curb, until Noah turned to her with a concerned look on his face.

Noah: Ate you still feeling upset about what happened after the meeting this meeting?

Lia: Oh No Ofcourse not. Mr. Bannon is an older man and I know they did things a lot differently in his day!

Noah: Then are you not feeling well?

Lia: No. I feel fine, why do you ask?

Noah: You just seems. little ...... withdrawn today. You don't seem like your usual cheerful self!

Lia: He's right, I'm not myself today. I just can't seem to get my mind off what happened between Clover's cousin and her boyfriend! What if Noah would feel the same way if he knew I was listening to his thoughts? Maybe I should be honest and tell him! But how do I explain the strange old women an dmy ability to hear his thoughts?

Noah: Lia? Are you sure you're okay? You seem like you have a lot on your mind!

Lia: Just a little jetlag after the flight. That's all!

Noah: Well then, allow me to offer you a little distraction!

She looked up and saw his devilished handsome smile.

Lia: Who could say no to that smile? So what's the big distraction?

Noah: Well, today is my birthday!

Lia: What? Today is your birthday? Why didn't you tell me earlier?

Noah: I don't usually celebrate it. But since you're here, I figure you may as well know. So you want to hear my birthday wish?

Lia: Yes, Ofcourse I do!

Noah: I want you to forget about whatever it is that is bothering you and enjoy the day with me!

Lia: Ofcourse Noah, I'd like nothing more!

Noah: There's one more birthday wish I was hoping you'd grant for me!

Lia: Anything!

Noah: Have dinner with me?

Lia: Of course I'll have dinner with you. It's your birthday, silly!

Noah smiled happily at you as the taxi pulls up to the entrance of the shopping district!

Lia and Noah got out of the car, She got excited as she looked at many shops with beautifully dressed mannequins in the windows. Noah on the other hand, looked slightly annoyed as he unfolds a long list of items that Molly asked him to pick up.

Noah: Geez, we're going to be all day trying to find all of this stuff! We'd better get started if we have any hope of finishing this list before closing!

Lia: I'll help you. You just need an expert shopper to help you find everything in no time!

Noah: Oh? And where might I find one of these expert shoppers?

Lia: As a matter of fact, Your in luck. I happen to be one!

Noah laughed, the earlier irritation completely went away from his face.

Noah: I'm glad you're here, Lia. This may actually be fun since I get to do it with you!

Lia: Here, let me take a look at that list!

Noah handed her the list and the two of them sets to work shopping for the item listed. She even managed to pick up a few things for herself in the process. She finally came to the end of the list, and Noah went to the register to purchase the last of the items.

Lia: What's that over there?

She looked over and see an elegant tie clip that would look great on Noah. She took a quick peek to see Noah still preoccupied at one of the cash registers. She grabbed the tie clip and walked over to the register furthezt from Noah so he doesn't see her and pay the tie clip.

Lia: I can't wait to see his reaction when I give it to him!

By the time she and Noah made it back to the hotel, it's was much later than expected.

Noah: Um .... Lia, I asked the kitchen staff if they'd deliver room service to mu suite for our dinner! I hope you don't mind. I just wanted something a little more private for this evening!

Lia: Oh, sure. That's no problem, Noah!

She noticed the bright red tips of his ears and the soft pink of his cheeks.

Lia: He seems pretty nervous about something. Is this it? Is he going to confess his feelings for me tonight?

Noah: Well, I'll let you go put all of your stuff down in your room. I'll see you in an hour?

Lia: See you in an hour!

She felt her own cheeks burning as she turned and headed towards the elevator.

Lia: If Noah really is going to confess his feelings , then I'm sure he's probably gone through a lot of trouble for tonight!

She picks out a lovely dress.

Lia: This will have to do! Perfect!

She took a deep breath before leaving her room to meet Noah. The moment she walked in, her breath was immediately taken by the beautiful decorations in the room.

Lia: This looks so beautiful! He did all of this for me?

Lia: Noah this is beautiful!

Noah: I'm rely happy that you like it! I want tonight to be special for us!

Lia: ........

Noah: I've ordered your favourite food as well!

Lia: Thank You Noah!

To hide her blush, she turned to look around the delicious-looking dishes on the table, but she noticed something missing.

Lia: Hey there's no birthday cake. You can't ha e a birthday dinner with no birthday cake!

Noah: Well, I guess I'm not so great at birthdays since I rarely celebrate them. But tonight is really about you, not me!

Lia: But what about dessert?

Noah: Are you offering?

Lia: ........ Mabey I am!

Noah: Then it's a good thing I saved my appetite. I'm sure your dessert is a thousand time better than a srore-bought cake!

She lets out a soft giggle.

Lia: Well, I know you want to make tonight about me and that's very sweet. But I still want to celebrate you!

Noah: Oh really?

Lia: Yes, I got you a little something while we were out shopping!

She handed the small box with the tie clip to Noah as he stared at it, stunned.

Lia: It's nothing big, I just wanted to show, you that I appreciate you and I'm happy you chose to share your birthday with me!

Noah opened the box and gently fingers the delicate silver tie clip.

Noah: This is perfect Lia. I never would've expected you to buy me a gift for my birthday! Honestly spending my birthday with you was the best gift I could have received. I will cherish this tie clip, because it came from you!

Noah took a her hand, rubbing it gently with his thumb, before leaning down to place a soft kiss on the back of it.

Noah: This sj the best birthday I've had in a very long time, Lia.And its all thanks to you!

Still holding her hand, Noah leans her to the table and pulled out a chair for her to sit. Towards the end of the meal, She noticed that Noah had grown a bit quiet as he gazed softly at her.

Lia: Is everything alright Noah?

Noah: Yes, yes, of course. I just .....

Noah took a deep breath.

Noah: Lia, I'm sure you've noticed by now that I care for you far more than just as my assistant! You are such an amazing women ....... smart, confident, beautiful. You mean so much to me! Do you remember the conversation I had in my office with my mother? I told her I already knew who I wanted to be with!

Lia: Yes I remember!

Noah: It was you that I was talking about. You are the only women I want in my life in Lia! I had to be honest and tell you, but I wanted it to be special when I did! That's why I waited so long to tell you. But I want to know what you think. How do you feel?

For the first time ever she saw a hint, of uncertainty in Noah's eyes.

Lia: I have to be honest with him. I can't go on pretending like I don't know what he's thinking. It's dishonest and unfair to Noah!

Noah noticed the conflicted emotions on her face because before she could speak, he quickly interjects.

Noah: I know there's a lot that might scare you about this, dating your boss, dating someone from a wealthy family! But let's not focus on that right now. Today's my birthday, remember? We're celebrating. We can figure out the tricky stuff later!

Lia: I wish the were the only tricky things to work through! They're a lot to explain than " a strange women gave me magical powers and now I can read your mind" But he's right. I don't want his birthday to end on a sour note!

Lia: I'll tell you my feelings tomorrow, since it's your birthday today!

Noah looked disappointed, but he quickly recovered.

Noah: I respect whatever decision you make, Lia. You're important to me no matter what!

Noah stood up and walked over to her, taking her hand and standing her up. He pulled her close in a tight embrace and leaned down, gently kidsing her. She felt the inner tingling of desire beginning as his tongue brushed her lips.

Noah: Having you in my arms is better than any present I could have received!

Lia: I bet I can top that!

She reached up and touched her lips to Noah's. He quickly responds by pulling her closer as he pressed her lips against her's.

Noah: I swear her lips are sweeter than any cake!

She parted her lips allowing Noah to slip his tongue between them, kissing her passionately. Their tongues danced for several moments before she finally pulled away, breathless.

Noah: Will you stay with me tonight Lia?

Lia: I'd love to Noah!

Noah leaned in and kissed her once more.

THE NEXT MORNING

the next morning she woke up blushing as sh remembered the night before, suddenly she realized Noah's side was empty. As her eyes adjusted to the morning light, she noticed him standing with his back to her, staring out the window.

Lia: Good morning handsome!

Noah turned around, his eyes wide with shock as he holded his phone at his ear. Suddenly a loud voice can be heard coming from the phone.

THE PERSON WHO WAS ON THE PHONE:

Mystery women: Who is that? Noah, is there a women in that room with you?!

Lia: Who could that be?
