Chapter 13: Coming Clean

Lia arrived at Molly's house in good time, still wondering what she wanted to talk about that she doesn't want Noah to know.

Molly: Lia, Thank You for coming. It's so good to see you again!

Lia: Hi Molly, It's nice to see you, also!

Molly gave her a friendly hug before ushering her over to the sofa.

Lia: So, what did you want to talk with me about?

Molly: I saw the news about Noah and Bianca. I just thought, perhaps I should talk to you about it as Noah's mother and the former wife of a Millionaire!

Lia: Uh oh, this could go well or badly!

Molly: So you remember when I told you that you weren't the first of my son's assistants to pursue a relationship with him?!

Lia: Yes. Even more unpleasant conversation than this one!

Molly: And I'm sure you remember Bonnie and how unsure her motives were for pursuing my son!

Lia: Who could forget?

Molly: My point is, dating someone in the spotlight means that you will always have to put up with these kinds of rumors. Not only that, but woman will also throw themselves at Noah simply bealcause he's rich and famous. Those kinds of woman don't care of he's happy, committed relationship. They will do whatever they can to steal him away!

Lia: That's the part of what've been afraud of!

Molly: I think you handled yourself very well this time. You remained poised and took it in stride. But, do you think you have what it takes to put up with this forever? This lifestyle isn't for a walk. Do you think you will be able to trust Noah no matter what you hear in the media?

Lia: I will always love and trust Noah. I know it won't be easy, but Noah is worth it. I love him, Molly. The media can't change that!

Molly hold her gaze silently for a few moments, but she didn't waver. Molly nodded, recognizing the determination in Lia's eyes.

Molly: I believe you Lia. I maht say, I'm grateful my son had found someone as strong and caring as you!

Lia: Thank You Molly. It means a lot to hear you say that!

Molly: Well, it's true. I know was a little hesitant at first, but I think you'll be just what my son need in partner!

Molly reached over and rested her hand on top of hers, giving in it a comforting pat.

Molly: I talked to Noah not long after the two of you decided to start dating officially. He said that everyone else sees him as a cold, unfeeling monster. But not you. You understand him. He told me about how you stood up for him after he let Mike go!

A sudden wave of guilt washed over Lia.

Lia: I only stood up for him because I read his thoughts and j ew the truth. If I didn't have that magical ability, then I don't know if I would have believed him or stood up for him Do I really deserve all the sweet things he has said about me to Molly?

Lia was lost in her thoughts.

Molly: Is something wrong dear? You look so sad suddenly!

Lia: What? Oh no sorry. I just feel a bit tired!

Molly: That's understandable. It's been a very exhausting last few days for you. Well, I won't keep too long. I just though we should have this little chat before another incident happens!

Lia: Thank You Molly. I really appreciate this!

Molly: Of course, dear. I hope things work out with you two!

Lia and Molly hugged once more before she left.

Once back at Noah's place, she decided it was finally time to come clean to him, about the magic.

Lia; I don't want any secrets or regrets. He deserves to know the truth. I just hope this doesn't change things between us!

As she rounded the corner and stepped into the living room, she was surprised to see food laid out in the table.

Lia: Noah, what's all this?

Noah: Well, I promised that I was going to cook for you, so I thought today would be a great day for it. Although, I've never cooked so many dishes all at once, so I'm not sure how good they are!

Lia: He cooked for me. He's so sweet and adorable. He never forgets promises even when I do. How did j get so lucky? I must tell him the truth. It's not fair for him to have this hanging over our heads!

Noah seemed to notice the sudden change in her mood.

Noah: What's wrong, beautiful? Is everything alright?

She took a deep breath, forcing her brain to think of the right word to say.

Lia: Noah, before we eat .... I have something I need to tell you!

Noah's face suddenly became serious as he gave his full attention.

Lia: Thi is going to be a little hard to explain, but I haven't been. completely honest with you!

Noah: What do you mean?

Lia: A couple of months ago, before we started dating, I ran into this strange old woman Her crystal ball was rolling down the the sidewalk, and I stopped it and returned to her, so she granted me a wish!

Noah: .......

Lia: Geez, I must sound lika a complet nutcase!

But Noah just listened patiently as she continued.

Lia: My wish was that could read my boss's mind because it was tough to know what he ..... what you were thinking, so she granted my wish, and for almost a month, anytime we touched, I could hear exactly what you were thinking!

Noah: .....

Lia: The magic is gone now, but I felt like you should know!

Noah: .......

Lia: Noah?

Noah: I'm sorry, it's just really hard to believe. You're telling me magic is real?

Lia: So, are you angry with me?

Noah: I feel a little embarrassed, but I'm not angry. I suppose losing that ability makes this relationship a littl more difficult for you, but it changes nothing for me ..... especially not how I feel about you. I fell for you long before you had before you had magical ability!

Lia: Really?

Noah: Yes, I remember the day of your interview, I overheard another employee trying to warn you about me being a monster. You told them that you would be the judge of that yourself. I found it very admirable that you wanted to make your own judgement. But once you started to work for me, I was a goner. You were so patient, smart, hard-working .... and Ofcourse gorgeous!

Lia: .....

Noah: I felt hard for you early on. I would have pursued you sooner, but I didn't think it was appropriate as your boos, but after a while, I just couldn't figt it anymore, and I'm glad that I didn't!

Lia: That first time I touched Noah, I remember even then he was thinking about the feelings he had for me. He obviously means it. I must learn to trust that without hearing his thoughts!

Noah took her in his arms, touching his lips lightly to hers.

Noah: My heart beats for you Lia. Whether you can hear my thoughts or not. Hear my words wahe I say say I love you with everything in me. I will tell you every minute of the day if that is what it takes. You can trust me to be true and honest with you!

She leaned her head against his chest l, feeling like a huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders.

Lia: I can finally relax and be happy in this relationship without that awful secret haunting me!

Noah: Come on, let's eat before it gets cold!

The two of them sat down to eat. Some of it was wonderful .... while some were not as great. As she finished eating, she noticed Noah watching her with a nervous expression!

Lia: He's waiting for my response regarding the food. Well Noah let's coo together next time!

Noah laughed out loud.

Noah: I know, I burned a few of the sauces. But I promise I'll get better!

Lia; But I really think it would be so much fun for us to cook together!

Noah: I'd love that Lia!

Lia and Noah gathered the plates and cleaned up, enjoying each other's company as they do. Later thay evening she and Noah laid In bed together. She noticed him studying her intently.

Lia: Noah, what's wrong?

Noah: I was just thinking ..... I'm not angry with about the magic a d reading my mind, but you really should've told me about this much sooner!

Lia: I know, I'm sorry, but I just didn't know how!

She suddenly noticed a lustful gleam in his eyes as his lips spread Into a wicked grin.

Lia: I know that smile by now. What does he have up his sleeve?

Noah: I think you deserve some sort of punishment for keeping secrets from me!

Lia: .... what kind of punishment did you have in mind?

Noah winked before reaching over her into the drawer of the nightstand lm He pulled out a few things and her eyes widened.

Lia: Are those ..... handcuffs and a blindfold?

Noah: Are you ready for your punishment, darling?

Lia: I'm not ready for that!

Noah looked disappointed, but he smiled and nodded.

Noah: That's ok. We'll work out our way to the kinkier stuff!

Naoh pulled her close to him. She tilted her head up to look at him, and he kissed her sweetly on the lips.

Noah: I want this night to last forever, love!

Lia: Even though I can't read his thoughts, I can tell how much he love me just by how he looks at me and kisses me!

She deepened the kiss, feeling her body grow hot under his touch.

Lia: Noah .... Can I have a goodnight kiss?

Noah: Always I wouldn't dream of going to sleep without one!

Noah leaned down and gave her a sweet, gentke kiss before cuddling her close. Feeling safd in his arms, she drifted of to sleep.

The next morning she woke up and found Noah's side of the bed was empty.

Lia: Last night was so incredible. I think I can say without a doubt now that I'm so in love with Noah. I want to tell him, where is he?

She started to stand, but she felt something catching on the sheets as she moved them.

Lia: What's this?

She looked down, also recognizing a weight on her finger she'd nver felt before.

Lia: Is that a diamond ring on my ring finger?

Noah: Good morning my love!

Her head snapped towards the bedroom door where Noah stood. He smiled at her shyly as she stared at him in shock. Noah moved closer to her his eyes nervous and his cheeks bright pink.

Noah: Lia, Will you marry me?

Lia: ......
