THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY

There was, once upon a Time, a very Hungry seal. Its normal diet consisted of crabs, clams and small bite size snacks. But one day, after a hard day's labor and chewing on scraps from days yore, it said.

"I tire of working all day and eating in sparse! I want a feast to make the Angels weep!"

And it posited to capture a great fish, fat and fit for a king.

Now you should know, a cuttlefish should no way enter the Sea of Ice; but as luck would have it, there it was jumping and flailing before the seal's very eyes! It was an effervescent rainbow of color; its aura captured his greed immediately. And he was determined to one day have his fill of its deliciousness.

But the days went by. No fish.
No crabs
No Clams
No shrimps
No nothing

The days became a week.
The week became a month.

Finally, as the season ran short and the icy waters began to freeze again, the Seal came to its senses.

"Maybe it's just not for me to have this beautiful meal after all."

And it turned to look for other prey. Just then, with its mouth opened in disgust and despair, the cuttlefish had LEAPED up far into the air and landed with a plop.

But the seal stopped, and thought.

"Wow, the taste is not palatable."

And spewed it forth back into the waters.

But having spent a prolonged time without victuals, the seal eventually died, on an empty stomach.

And the cuttlefish, happy to survive the ordeal, went on to have a large family of other cuttlefish. That's why just off the Coast of Argentina, you will find a very rare sight indeed.
