After agreeing to go to dinner with Noah, he takes her to a beautiful, high-end restaurant on the top floor of a luxury building. downtown.

Lia: Wow! this is beautiful, He must be trying to impress me. I've never had someone take me to such a nice , expensive restaurant like this before.

The two of them were taken to a secluded table in the back right next to a window overlooking downtown.

Lia: That view is breathtaking!

Noah looked up from his menu, a surprised expression was on his face before turning a gaze out the window.

Noah: Yes, it really is! You know, I com here nearly every week and sit at this exact table, but have never noticed the view before.

Lia: Really? I don't know how you could miss it. I could stare out of this window all night.

It grows quite for several moments. She looked up to see Noah studying her carefully, his expression unreadable.

Noah: .......

Lia: I've had so many business dinners with Noah before, but this certainly feels ..... different

Waitress: Good evening may I take your orders?

They placed their orders and the waitress hurried off.

Lia: I'm glad all of those awful rumors will be put to bed tomorrow

Noah: I agree. I'll be happy for things to return back to normal at the company.

Lia: I have to thank you Mr. Kason.

Noah: Call me Noah. We aren't at work right now.

Lia: Right ...... Noah. I wanted to thank you, Noah for standing up for the female employees at your company. No one knew what Mike was really like, but you risked your reputation to keep us safe.

Noah: I was just doing what was right. I don't want any of my employees to feel threatened by someone. I'm much less concerned with rumors than I am with the safety of my employees. But I wanted to stand by you since you were kind enough to challenge those rumors to your Co-workers.

Lia; Yeah, I meant to ask you. How did you happen to wind up at that restaurant tonight?

Noah grew quiet once more as he studied her with the indecipherable gaze of his.

Lia: Oh no, I hope I didn't cross the line by asking that!

Noah: I was supposed to meet my mother for dinner at the restaurant across the street. But when I got there, I noticed my mother was not alone. She had invited a women that my mother is insistent upon me dating. However, I'm not interested in her. So I left before they noticed me and I went to the other restaurant to get something to take home and eat.

Lia: Ohh I see!

Noah looked over at her, noticing her face. He stares into her eyes as he states clearly:

Noah: I've told this women that she and I will never be together. But she's persisted. She's now trying to get to me through my mother. Her family is very wealthy and powerful, so of course my mother approves.

Lia: Oh I'm sure your mother just wants you to be happy. if you follow your heart and be with someone who makes you happy, I'm sure she'd be happy for you.

Noah: Your point of view is always so positive and pleasant. It's very ...... endearing

Lia: ......

Noah: Besides, it's never wise to mix business and romance, especially marriage.

Lia: Right. how could I be so silly to think he would mix business and romance with me if he wouldn't for this rich women.

She thought to herself.

Noah: I only want to marry someone I'm in love with.

Lia: I understand. I think that makes a lot of sense.

Noah suddenly stares at her quietly and she notices that the tips of his ears were growing red again.

Lia: I wonder what thoughts just came to his mind.

Her heart raced as she remembered that he was thinking about her the last time his ears turned red.

Lia: Mabey I should just leave him to his thoughts. This has been so nice and such a sweet moment. I don't want to ruin it by prying. This is the first time Noah and I have talked about romance and love. He really has a very soft and sweet side to him. I hope I get the chance to see more of it.

After finishing their meals, Lia and Noah got on the elevator to head down to the lobby.

Lia: I really like getting to know this side of him. I wish the night could have lasted a little longer.

Suddenly she felt a jolt as the elevator stops halfway down.

Lia: On no! that didn't feel like a normal stop on a different floor! Something must be wrong!

Noah seemed to have the same thought as her, acting quickly to press the emergency button.

Noah: Hello! we seem to be trapped in the elevator.

Elevator Tech: Yes sir. it's a small glitch. We'll have you free in no time. Just hang tight.

Noah: Looks like we may be here a little bit longer.

Noah was calm, but he noticed that Lia was grown quiet since thay elevator got jammed.

Noah: Lia are you alright?

The look of genuine concern on his face touches her.

Lia: I may have a touch of claustrophobia.

Noah Chuckled softly. The gentle sound of it was soothing.

Noah: It's okay Lia, You can tell me if you're uncomfortable. I'll do what I can make you feel better.

Lia: Mind out of the gutter, Lia. That's not what he meant. That's very kind of you, Mr. Ka -

Noah: I want you to call me Noah

Lia: Noah. That's very kind of you.

He smiles sweetly at her. But before she could return the gesture , another hard jolt rocked the elevator and the lights went out!

Lia: Aaaaaaahhhhh

The rocking of the elevator caused her to lose her footing. But Noah reacted quickly, holding her arm to steady her. She reached out and placed her hand on the wall, regaining her balance.

Lia: Thank You Noah!

Noah: My pleasure Lia ,I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself!

Even in the darkness, she could feel his eyes studying her carefully. At that moment, the lights came back on and the elevator began to hum to life once more. She quickly looked away, knowing that her cheeks are a bright red.

Noah: Can I drive you home?

Lia: Oh you don't have to do that Noah.

Noah: I insist. It's very late. I want to make sure you get home safely.

Lia: That's very kind of you. Thank You.

The next morning, she headed into the office. But she can't get her mind off of her evening with Noah.

Lia: I definitely feel closer to him after last night. I'm almost positive that he feels something for me even though he hasn't said it. I guess he can't really say anything since he's my boss. But the question is, how do I feel about him? I haven't gotten a good read on him yet. I think I need to get to know him better.

Clover: Lia!

She jarred from her thoughts as Clover rushed to catch up with her.

Clover: So last night was some night, right?

Lia: Yeah, it was! Oh you mean Mike's dinner.

Clover: of course I did. What else would I be taking about?

Lia: Nothing sorry, I'm just a little scattered today!

Clover: Anyway, everyone feels so bad now after the way we talked about Mr. Kason! Especially when he was just looking out for the women! We nevee should've just taken that rumors at face value without hearing what really happened!

Lia: Well the important thing is that Mike is gone, we're safe, and we all know that Mr. Kason is a good man.

Clover: Well the ladies in the office and I wanted to apologize and to show Mr. Kason our appriciation! So we got him a little something. Can you give this to him?

Clover hands her a nicely decorated gift bag. She took a peek inside to see his favourite coffee.

Lia: Oh he'll love this! it's his absolute favorite brand. And it's so expensive, how did you all afford it?

Clover l: We all pitched in to get it. Who knew coffee could cost almost as much as my rent?!

Lia and Clover chuckle as they fall in step together.

Lia: Clover why don't you all give this to him yourselves?

Clover: Honestly Lia, I think we're all still a little too embarrassed by how we acted. No one really ha the nerve to give it to him face to face.

Lia: Well, I'm sure he'll love it!

She waved goodbye to Clover as she heads to her desk and she turned in the direction of Noah's office. As she got closer to the door, she heard the sound of hushed angry voices outside of the door.

Lia: Who could that be? Noah didn't have a meeting scheduled for this morning.

She opened the door as quiely as she should, hoping to slip in unnoticed. She was surprised to see a beautiful, elegantly dressed middle-aged women speaking angrily to Noah.

Molly: It was rude and inconsiderate Noah! Shame on you!

Lia: Who is she?

Noah: I have done everything you asked. Dropped eveything for this company. Can you not let me have this one mother?

Lia: Oh that's Noah's mother! Well, this feels very awkward.

Molly: Oh stop being dramatic, Noah! it was incredibly distasteful of you to stand up Bonnie and I. And now you have the gall to turn this on me?

Noah: I've made my decision. There is nothing between Bonnie and I. We will never be together.

Lia: Yep! That's my cue! I should wait outside.

She turned to walk back to the door, but Noah noticed you just then.

Noah: Lia! You don't have to leave!

Molly: Ofcourse she does. This is a personal matter and your secretary does not need to know about this.

Noah: She's my assistant. She does far more than a secretary, and she's very valuable to me.

Lia: .......

Noah: Besides, you were just leaving, Mother!

Molly: .......

Noah: I already have such deep feelings for someone else that I could never feel anything for Bonnie.

Molly: Amd who would this mystery gurl be? Because I suspect this is just a ruse you've cooked up to get me off of your case.

Noah became silent , as he steals a quick glance in Lia's direction.

Lia: Why is he looking at me?

Noah: I just need some time before I introduce her to you, mother. This is all new to her and I want to make sure she feels comfortable before I ask her to meet my family.

Molly: I still find all of this very difficult to believe. I can't imagine anyone, but Bonnie would be willing to put up with how poorly you communicate your feelings.

Noah .......

Molly: If you cannot produce this so- called "Girlfriend" in a month, then you will move forward with an engagement to Bonnie. Is that understood?

Noah didn't respond. Lia noticed how tightly he clenched his jaw at his mother's words. But Molly didn't wait for a response anyway. She turned on her heels, storming past Lia with so much as a nod. Noah let's out a deep frustrated sigh.

Lia: Mr. Kason, Would you like me to leave you to yourself?

Noah: No Lia, I feel better when you're here.

Lia walked over to where he was standing.

Lia: What are you going to do about your mother's ultimatum?

Noah: I don't really know. But I guess I had better hurry and figure it out. I only have a month.

Noah looked up at her, staring deep into her eyes and making her heart skip a beat as he says:

Noah: That's not very long to pursue someone that you really care about.

Lia quickly try to change the subject before her reddened cheeks betray her.

Lia: Well! I think I just may have something to cheer you up.

Noah: Oh really, and what might that be?

Lia: His smiles give me butterflies every time! I wish he'd smile more.

Again she divert her attention before her cheeks flush and give away her embarrassment. She reached down and picked up the gift from Clover and the others.

Lia: The ladies in the office wanted to apologize and thank you for looking out for them. So they got this for you.

Noah: ....... They did this for me?

She nodded as she handed him the gift bag.

Lia: I know you aren't accustomed to expressing how you feel but I think the employees here are beginning to realize what a wonderful person you really are.

Noah: This is the first time I've ever been gifted something by my employees, and it's all thanks to you.

Lia: You have such a nice smile, Mr. Kason. You should use it more. I think our employees would love to see this side of you. I know that I do.

Noah's head snaps up quickly as he looked in her direction with a surprised expression on his face. He smiled before walking over to her.

Noah: I'll make you deal. I'll smile more if you do as well.

The racing of you heart suddenly alerts her to how close together the two of them are standing. She turned to face him directly, Her hand lightly brushing his thigh, accidentally, as he inhales sharply at her touch. She heard the soft whispers of his thoughts enter her mind.

Noah: I wonder what she thinks of me. Is she feeling the same thing I am?

Lia: That's the same thing I've been asking myself.

But her thoughts are once more interrupted by his.

Noah: She's so beautiful and sweet .... and she's the only one I want. Oh God, how I wish I could take her in my arms and kiss her right now.

Lia: He wants to kiss me?

She looked up in time to see Noah leaning closely towards you, but he hesisates.

She smiled and nod in agreement signifying that she'll smile more if he does. Suddenly the phone rang interrupting her. He answered the call, and his face suddenly grew very serious. He hang up quickly and looked over to her.

Lia: Is everything alright?

Noah: There's been an emergency!

Lia: Oh no! what happened?
