A tree house
#WritcoPoemPrompt52
Write a poem on "A tree house"
You probably would have never known
looking at it now
Before this grass was overgrown
And the boards were falling down
This was a place of children's screams
laughter and all that biz
And growing with age
A teenage haze
An old mattress made
to fit.
A place to go
To show and grow
You probably would have never known
what I was
or
what I could be
before this grass was overgrown
Built with the help of a dad
one summer morning on a whim
A couple trips to the lumber store
helped define lines and shores
to countless paintball wars
Now a setting sun
and whispering leaves
is my song
the song I sing
but there was a time
that was mine
before this grass was overgrown
