One Night In Al-Haram
Nothing unusual about that night,
Sky adorned with a crescent moon's beam,
Sparkling fireflies in the velvet Milky Way,
Darkness not too deep, insects bustling,
Chirping crickets and buzzing beetles,
Just an ordinary day I passed through.

In deep sleep, on that Friday night,
At the midst of a desert, I stood,
Beneath the moonlit void of darkness.
No stars, no moon, just me and a date palm.

Running without direction, without fear,
Back and forth in the same desert,
Water emerged between the sands,
Honeyed sweetness, desert oasis refreshment.
I drank, quenching the thirst of the soul.

Saw a large, magnificent door,
Beautiful carvings, ancient celestial patterns,
Mahogany and gold-colored paint,
Gently opened when I touched,
Revealing a world far beyond my imagining.

"Enter," a mellifluous voice heard,
A middle-aged man in a white robe,
His smile was beautiful,
Among his whitening beard.

He presented two dishes before me,
Each crafted with a beauty I had never known,
Incredibly delicious in heavenly fragrances.

In that dark room, the moonlight faintly shining,
Cool shadows stretching from the Mihrab,
Where an Imam leading the Salat,
Golden swirling Arabic calligraphy,
On dark brown wooden, shining brightly,
A beautiful prayer rug spread,
Inviting me to kneel and connect with the divine.

My body floated, thrown to another space,
Carried by unseen current, flashing light,
People crowding, circling the Baitullah,
A wave of upmost devotion and longing,
Calling Your name, gently kiss the Hajar Aswad,
My heart pounding, my body trembling,
Cold sweat, scared and happy, all etched.

A dazzling light descended above the Ka'bah,
Washing away all shadows and doubts,
White wings stretched out,
A horse with wings like Pegasus.

My heart stopped,
My mouth dry, tears flowing endlessly.
Early Adhan called me out of the realm,
I saw the time, 3 in the night,
Cheeks wet, cold sweat streaming,
Performed ablution and prayed Tahajjud.

When Your blessing descends to the lowest heaven,
Averting sin and wickedness, governing the soul,
I kneel upon You, prostrated in prayer.

O Allah, the Most Merciful, forgive my sins,
Invite me as Your guest in Al-Haram,
Allow me to pray in Raudhah,
Contemplate between Safa and Marwah,
Kun Faya Kun, Be, and It's.
