The red sunset 1.
#WritcoStoryChallenge
The sun was setting in the horizon. I watched it and wondered should I walk towards it or wait back. I decided to walk towards it when I felt a tap on my shoulder. "You are here enjoying mom's favourite scene after the drama you pulled in there",he said angrily as I turned around to look at him. His eyes was red and he wore a painful look. "Bro,I couldn't keep what was cooking inside my head anymore", I said picking my words with great care. Dad needs to move on. He can't just stop politics because everything about it reminds him of mom.He just can't bro. He 's got more years ahead of him and he hasn't even hit 60. All this while he has been very secretive. We promised mom we will end this dirty game so why should he step down now?
"It is not easy and you know that. He has lost two wives just in a twinkle of an eye", my brother replied still with an angry voice. Dad is still hurt and you know that so why that drama sis , Awusi and Daniel were a bit close to knowing the truth about mom. "I said nothing wrong in there and you know that",I said calmly. The truth is bitter but needs to be said. Dad must move on for the sake of the family and this not what mom would have wanted dad to do. And for how many years will we put our siblings in the dark, they need to know the truth and cope with it . I know you want dad to be fine I also do but this time we need to rise and face our challenges. "I know sis but not now ",my brother said this time with a calm voice. "Then when bro when? I asked. We have relaxed for two good years and still you want to in the name of emotional stress? It's better you and dad make up your minds not only for our own good but for others. They started this dirty game in the name of politics and they will pay dearly for it. I need to go and take my bath.
With that I walked into the house with a spirit of bravery . "Lord Jesus help me ," I offered a silent prayer . We shall surely end that dirty game of theirs , if only it is your will. "What next?"I asked myself.
