She stood in the dark trying to figure out what to do. She knew she had to find a way to get out but how? Here she was locked in a room she calls hell. She felt like screaming but she felt the screaming won't bring her any help but insults. Then the room opened and her husband entered. He was thick tall with a scary face.Just to old for a girl of her age. He had this three tribal marks on his face which reminded her of nothing but harm. He stood there as if he expected something from her.
Husband:You know what I want just lie down. I have somewhere to go. Kina don't make me talk.
Kina:Am not ready.
Husband:(Laughing with a heavy voice)It's either you are not in the mood or not ready. Just do as I said before I grab you.
Kina:(Crying) I said am tired. Why can't you leave me alone?Am I your only wife?
Husband:(Laughing again )I see now you've grown wings. How dare you speak to me in that manner. Not even my five wives have spoken to me that way before. No one! Nonsense!
He moved closer to her and slapped her. She fell shivering. She knew what was next. But she had her mind made up. She would rather get beaten than to be sexually abused. "Agei",she cried in pain as her so called husband beat her. When he was satisfied he left leaving her to help herself. She cried bitterly.
Kina:Oh Father!Oh!Mother why me?
Why leave me, a lone girl of thirteen to face life alone?
Who have I offended?

Who's there to save me from this agony?
Am I not also entitled to smile for even a second?
