We know Rabindranath Tagore for his songs, poems, and literary works mainly. The fact we ignore his subjective writings i.e. essays on several subjects from Hinduism to Upanishad, and from World politics to theory of Nation. Rarely, we read his essays. The reason is wisdom based and philosophical.
We Indians respect him and call him as Kaviguru - True. But following him is difficult in today's world where we are surrounded with technology. His creative achievements include paintings which has a lot of controversy about the quality of work. A lot of painters and critics speaks blantly about his paintings because it has a flavour of European touch though it might look like a childish work.
In today's world how far I have seen there are a lot of painters and writers those who are well off in their skills. In this competitive world where existence of creativity is based on various factors viz. politics to corporate appreciation we should re-think about his achievements in this competitive contemporary world.
We, those who love and respect him more are his critics. His creative achievements should be considered for that time. Though I believe he, only he and his writings has the ability to pull out from any level of distress. This is what his creative achievements are!
I admire him most, respect him most. Even I feel it's he who worshiped God through literature. In a true sense he was a philosopher rather to consider him as a poet, music composer, short story writer or a painter.

Note: My tribute to him on his birthday. This is my honest opinion. Please forgive me if I am being rude to him on anything in this short write up.
