Lessons Learned
Fool me once, shame on you, they say,
A lesson learned, in the light of day.
But what of the second time around,
When trust is shattered, and hope is drowned?

Fool me twice, shame on me, I certainly wouldn't disagree,
For believing in the facade, is failing to see some posing as friends, but true enemies.
Because the sting of betrayal, is a bitter taste,
When illusions crumble, hearts are left displaced.

But in the ashes of deceit, resilience should grow,
With a strength reborn, from the depths below.
So fool me once, fool me twice, cause it matters not,
Because the first lesson, I still won't forgot.

As I will let the lessons of betrayal be my guide,
While I navigate the twists and turns of life's bumpy ride.
So fool me once, shame on you, they may say
But fool me twice, no way jose'
Because the first-time, I'll rise stronger and wiser, comes what may!!
